EXPERTISE IN INDIVIDUAL AND COUPLES THERAPY
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
I have extensive clinical experience in treating a broad range of issues and problems, such as:
• Major Depression
• Problems with Anxiety
• Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
• Phobias (e.g., Fear of Flying, Fear of Public Speaking)
• Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Couples, Marriage, Relationship Problems
My years of therapy experience also have given me specific expertise treating conditions such as:
• Trichotillomania (hair pulling)
• Self-Injuring Behaviors (e.g., cutting)
• Eating Disorders
• Internet and Gaming Addiction.
I offer short-term therapy and longer-term therapy, depending on your needs. If you suffer symptoms of any of these conditions, I want to help you feel as much immediate relief as possible. For longer standing problems, we will uncover and address problems at the root so you can continue to feel better, even after therapy ends.
I also work in therapy to help individuals enhance their skills and optimize their abilities in the following areas:
• Athletic Peak Performance / Sports Psychology
• Public Speaking
• Assertiveness Training
COUPLES THERAPY (PRE-MARITAL, MARITAL)
I also specialize in working with couples. Whether you are in a committed relationship, are about to get married, or whether you are married, if you are having problems that need attention, I can help. My approach, known as Structural Therapy, involves helping you better understand problematic communication patterns within your relationship, and how these breakdowns in communication have likely led to you and/or your partner feeling like your needs are not being met. This can lead to anger, resentment and ongoing tension.
I am committed to helping you see where important changes need to be made, and I work intensively with each member of a couple in session to learn and practice healthier patterns of communication that result in more satisfaction in their relationship.
